Trump Blasts George W. Bush For 9/11 Comments About Domestic Terrorists

On Monday, former President Donald Trump slammed former President George W. Bush’s 9/11 comments in which he compared the al-Qaeda attacks on the U.S. twenty years ago to the rioters at the Capitol on January 6.

Conservatives had been furious by Bush’s statements, and what they believe are the implications.

Trump put a voice to those frustrations.

Trump On Bush’s 9/11 Comments: ‘He Shouldn’t Be Lecturing Us About Anything’

Trump took Bush to task for the disastrous foreign policy that left America in two foreign quagmires that cost thousands of American lives and trillions of dollars.

Trump said that it is “so interesting to watch former President Bush, who is responsible for getting us into the quicksand of the Middle East.”

Bush could not even win the war he got the United States into, Trump would note.

Bush also “lectures us that terrorists on the ‘right’ are a bigger problem than those from foreign countries that hate America, and that are pouring into our Country right now,” Trump added.

Trump continued, “Why was he willing to spend trillions of dollars and be responsible for the death of perhaps millions of people?”

The most recent Republican president just kept going, letting Bush have it.

“He shouldn’t be lecturing us about anything,” Trump insisted. “The World Trade Center came down during his watch.”

“Bush led a failed and uninspiring presidency,” Trump added. “He shouldn’t be lecturing anybody!”

Bush Compared January 6 Rioters To 9/11 al-Qaeda Terrorists

On Saturday, Bush, said at a 9/11 memorial service that was also attended by President Joe Biden and former President Bill Clinton, “We have seen growing evidence that the dangers to our country can come not only across borders but from violence that gathers within.”

Though Bush never referred to the January 6 event, it was widely reported that that was the intended reference.

“There is little cultural overlap between violent extremists abroad and violent extremists at home,” Bush also said.

“But in it’s disdainful pluralism, in their disregard for human life, in their determination to defile national symbols, they are children of the same foul spirit and it is our continuing duty to confront them,” Bush added.
